Why stay here ...

Tredegar House Country Park Club Campsite is ideally located within a mile of the M4 motorway and only 12 miles from Cardiff. Complementing the house superbly is the Country Park itself, boasting a 17th century orangery, gardens, woodland and adventure playground open throughout the year. The 7-acre caravan site boasts an exquisite ornamental lake and offers 79 generously sized pitches. Take the opportunity to visit Tredegar House as it has often been described as one of the architectural wonders of Wales, and recognised as one of the most significant 17th century houses in the whole of the British Isles. The house is open between Easter and September.

Within convenient distance of Tredegar House Country Park Club Campsite is the beautiful city of Cardiff, with its medieval castle, National Museum, Bay Development and vast shopping centre. Close to the caravan park, you can visit the restored Transporter Bridge, Pwll Mawr (Big Pit mining museum) and the lovely Wye Valley. The bus stop is about a 25 minute walk from site and the service is frequent and good value, allowing you to conveniently explore the local area without the need for a car. A favourite of visitors is a trip to the small village of Ystradfellte, approximately 1 hour away, where a 5 mile walk can be undertaken to the four waterfalls in the Brecon Beacons - well worth the effort to witness these stunning falls.

A tidy little unique site in the grounds of Tredegar House

Tredegar House Country Park Club Campsite
We had a lovely 3 night stop here. Perhaps needed longer as we had more to visit and see but were on a schedule :) As normal staff were helpful and friendly. Pitches seemed larger then normal? Site was clean and tidy and not at all busy. Easy to access and within walking distance of Tredegar House, a huge ASDA and bus stops etc. We visited the house and grounds, saw the Transporter Bridge (which sadly is closed until 2023) and visited other Welsh sites within an hours reach. Definitely consider this as a return visit once the Bridge is open again.

Nice NT site

Tredegar House Country Park Club Campsite
After reading previous reviews we were bit apprehensive but pleasantly surprised by location next to the parklands and handy for walking the dog. Visited Tredegar House which was very interesting and was able to take dog around gardens. Great chippy in small courtyard of shops located nearby to grounds and Asda walking distance just down road. Road noise not too intrusive and pitches seemed fine, not neglected.

Nice site, easy to get to

Tredegar House Country Park Club Campsite
Our first weekend of 2022, not that warm but half dry. The Country Park on your doorstep is great for dog walking - beware it gets VERY busy, so get your walk in early! If you're a runner, the Saturday ParkRun is held here. The site is well maintained, good sized pitches, generally fairly level. Nice toilet block - you just need to remember the push button code to get in.There is some noise from the motorway, but it didn't bother us. Asda is an easy walk, as is the local corner shop. The shops and craft centre at Tredegar House are worth a visit, as is the House if you don't have dogs in tow. There was a nice craft fair outside on the Saturday we were there, not sure if it's a regular thing but worth visiting if it is. A good centre for visiting Cardiff & Newport area, easy to get to from the motorway.

Weather Terrible but sight Great

Tredegar House Country Park Club Campsite
We had not been before but wanted to try Wales and thought this might be a good start. Site was clean and tidy, credit to the wardens as only two of them at the time of our visit. Easy to get around and we visited a few castles whilst there. Great fir Bird Watching but watch out for cheeky squirrel šŸæ Helen and hubby the wardens very friendly and knowledgeable, We went into Cardiff and parked in the centre - big mistake NCP parking 4.75 per hour. Bus is just outside of site which I believe takes you to the centre of Cardiff. Pub at top of site on main road very good for lunch and Dinner Asda at bottom of Road on left hand side. Just remember to arrive at 1pm or after and not get bent out of shape if you arrive earlier and canā€™t get in the site, rules is rules isnā€™t that right Olga lol. Thanks for a great stay.

Good Site In Lovely Park

Tredegar House Country Park Club Campsite
We live in South Wales and use Tredegar regularly throughout the year. Itā€™s an ideal for dogs with the huge park and woodland walks around the lake. The toilet blocks are a bit old and tired but are kept clean and tidy. Outside a very large number of the hard standing pitches have been seriously neglected in the last couple of years with many needing an urgent upgrade.
